Nicole Galea

Nicole danced with the Queensland Ballet from 1994 to 2005, following completion of her Bachelor of Arts (Dance) from Queensland University of Technology, and her first professional engagement with NAPAC Dance Company in Durban, South Africa.

While at QUT she won the QUT Gold Medal for academic excellence and received a scholarship to attend the Royal Danish Ballet’s Bournonville Summer Academy in Copenhagen. 

Nicole has also completed a Master of Arts (Research) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Middle Years) from Queensland University of Technology.

Nicole is a fully qualified and registered RAD and CSTD teacher, and choreographs, teaches and coaches for many dance schools across South East Queensland.  She also takes pleasure in offering Queensland Ballet educational workshops and talks to various community groups throughout the state.

She has had works by international choreographers, Stephan Thoss and John Neumier, remounted on her, and other works created especially for her by Australian choreographers, Francois Klaus, Natalie Weir and Paul Boyd.

Nicole maintains a strong affiliation with Queensland Ballet through her position as Artistic Assistant.  She also teaches ballet within the Queensland Dance School of Excellence, and is a member of their Artistic and Advisory Committee.

Nicole lectures and tutors at Queensland University of Technology, and she is also employed with Education Queensland as a general classroom teacher.

Nicole joined 2ballerinas in 2012.
