two ballerinas

Sarah Rowles

Sarah was trained mostly in France and Belgium, performing solo parts from the age of 12. She joined Ballet van Vlaanderen Belgium as their youngest member, aged 16, and performed with the company in ballets such as Miss Julie, and Dame Ninette de Valois' The Rakes Progress. Sarah also performed with Ballet de Nice, Glyndebourne Festival Touring Opera Ballet touring Great Britain, Glyndebourne Festival Opera Ballet, English National Opera Ballet, Ballet lmperiale and British Ballet.

After moving to the UK, marrying and having two children she came back to dancing to get fit and was awarded a government grant to study at the Royal Academy of Dancing, qualifying as a teacher in 1981. She taught adult beginners to professional level for nearly nine years at the well known Pineapple Dance Centre, as well as taking on some summer course teaching for Marleen Ducatillon in Belgium, as well as some deputising in schools around London such as Italia Conti.
After a move to Australia, and a rather lengthy break from teaching, she was offered the opportunity to teach at Sayers Dance School in Brisbane, and has been there since 2008. It was around this time that she started also attending the 2ballerinas' classes, in order to stay in shape, and she is happily still attending classes.

Sarah joined 2ballerinas in 2015.
