Queensland's leading adult ballet school
Celebrating 10 Years
two ballerinas

Jane Murphy

Jane first met Michelle and Rosetta in the late 1980s and was in awe of their artistry and grace right from the start.  She has had the pleasure of seeing them dance on stage countless times in many different roles and truly treasures her memories of their stellar performances with the Queensland Ballet, under the Artistic Directorship of Harold Collins MBE.

Jane has a lifelong interest in the performing arts and completed a Business Communications Degree at the Queensland Institute of Technology, majoring in Journalism and Advertising.  In 1988 she was extremely fortunate to be appointed Promotions Manager of the Queensland Ballet, a position she held for more than seven years until mid 1995.

Rosetta and Michelle were the undisputed stars of the Queensland Ballet during this time, and so Jane grew to know them well whilst still being somewhat in awe of them.  The Queensland Ballet in this period toured extensively to Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and every year undertook a major tour of regional Queensland, as well as performing at least five seasons of ballet in Brisbane.  So Jane made influential media contacts all over Australia which have been most useful to her career and was extended when she subsequently worked for companies such as Opera Queensland, Queensland Music Festival and the Riverfestival in various senior marketing and PR roles.

Blessed with two left feet and a swimmer's physique, Jane is very much a late starter to ballet lessons, but hopes to improve her core body strength and posture through the classes.

Jane is delighted and proud to be 2ballerinas' Publicist and loves working with Michelle and Rosetta.
