Dance for Healthy Aging
These classes are about reconnecting with your body, your memories, and the people around you.
Dance for Healthy Ageing is a welcoming dance class that supports physical, cognitive, and emotional wellbeing for older adults—including those living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, or other chronic health conditions.
Each session blends gentle movement with music and social connection, helping to improve balance, coordination, mood, and mobility. We explore a variety of dance styles using simple choreography and familiar music to keep classes engaging and enjoyable.
Classes are designed to be inclusive and adaptable, with seated or standing options—chairs are always available. Carers and support people are warmly invited to attend free of charge.

Who is this class suitable for?
Dance for Healthy Ageing is a welcoming dance class designed for older adults of all abilities, including those living with conditions such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, arthritis, or chronic pain. It’s also suitable for anyone looking to stay active in a gentle, supportive, and social environment.
Do I need to complete a registration form?
Yes. All participants (or their carer/support person) are asked to complete a short intake form before attending their first class. This helps us support your needs and keep everyone safe.
How many support people can I bring?
You’re welcome to bring one carer or support person with you. They’re invited to join in or simply provide assistance as needed, and there’s no additional cost for their attendance.
How long is the class?
Each class runs for 1 hour, with regular breaks and plenty of options to move at your own pace—seated or standing.
What shoes to wear
Comfortable, closed-in shoes with a non-slip sole are best—sneakers or flat walking shoes work well. If you have a simple ballet flat or jazz shoe you’d prefer to wear, feel free to bring those along too. The most important thing is that your shoes feel stable and secure.
