Zaimon Vilmanis is co-founder and director of independent dance theatre company Prying Eye.

Of the company’s critically acclaimed productions, White Porcelain Doll (2014) and The Inquisition of the Big Bad Wolf (2018) were nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Independent Dance for the Australian Dance Awards.

Zaimon collaborates with the world around him; assembling diverse and exciting voices, approaches, and experiences to create unique interdisciplinary works.

Since 2009 he has created 18 new works, 4 of which have been independently created, and others have been commissioned by the likes of Expressions Dance Company, Brisbane Festival, Supercell Dance Festival, That Theatre Co, Queensland University of Technology, Metro Arts, Outcast Arts, Adelaide College for the Arts, Ausdance SA, & private philanthropists.

In 2016, he also choreographed for and performed in the 3D dance film Mudskipping which screened for CreateX (Brisbane), Cinedans (Amsterdam) and Choreoscope (Spain).

Most recently he co-created “The Garden of Curiosity” under Prying Eye for Toowoomba’s first ever Curious Arts Festival.
